Privacy Policy — Cenote

Last updated: May 2, 2026

Cenote is a Chrome extension that helps you focus by blocking distracting websites during timed study sessions. This policy explains what data the extension accesses, how it is used, and what is never collected.

Data We Do Not Collect

Cenote does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data with any server or third party. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads, and no external network requests made by the extension.

Data Stored Locally

Cenote stores the following data exclusively on your device using the Chrome Storage API:

Chrome Sync

If you have Chrome Sync enabled, your focus sessions and blocklist are synced across your own Chrome instances via chrome.storage.sync. This data is managed entirely by Google and subject to Google's Privacy Policy. Favicons are stripped before syncing to stay within Chrome's sync quota.

Permissions

Cenote requests the following Chrome permissions and uses them solely for the features described:

Children's Privacy

Cenote does not collect any data from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date.
